The Miami Dragons Are Loose and Coming For You

Miami, FL (April 4th, 2005) - The Miami Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival is gearing up for what is expected to be its best one yet: as they say third times a charm. Although the festival is set to take place October 22nd and 23rd, organizers have strapped on their life vests and with paddles in hand are recruiting and training newcomers and veterans interested in competing in this years festival.

Anyone who has the drive to learn, compete, have fun and work as a team is invited to come out and participate. Prior experience is not needed, only the will to come out and learn. You need not be part of a team to come out and participate. There are always teams looking for extra members. Anyone from ages 13 and up can come out and participate in this cultural community event. Teams can be formed from schools, colleges, clubs, non-profits, friends, etc. There are 20 people to a boat, but a minimum of 12 is allowed.

Practices are held at the Miami Rowing Club at Key Biscayne. Practices slots must be scheduled in advanced by calling 305-633-0168 or visiting www.miamidragon.com.

We encourage companies big or small to come out and participate as well. Dragon Boating is a great way to enhance relationships between co-workers because the sport offers teamwork and communication skills. Many local and national companies have already jumped on board: Ocean Bank, Swire Properties, Mandarin Oriental, HSBC Bank, Great Florida Bank, Jones Lang and Lasalle and Bellsouth just to name a few. This is a great way to promote your company via team participation and sports marketing.
