Miami, FL (July 25th, 2005) - Qingdao, the city that will be hosting all of the sailing events for the 2008 China Olympics, announced today that they have agreed to become a sponsor of the 2005 Miami Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival.
“The fact that the 2008 Chinese Olympics has recognized Miami’s premier Dragon Boat race with this sponsorship is an indication of how we have grown and the recognition that Miami is truly an international city,” said Mr. Joe Chi, President of the Miami Hong Kong Dragon Boat Race. The Qingdao Olympic Committee was enthusiastic and delighted to become part of this event in South Florida.
The Miami Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival will take place on Brickell Key and throughout the Brickell Road area on October 22nd and 23rd, 2005. A portion of the race course traverses under the bridge that connects Brickell Key with the mainland.
